At BenchSci, there’s a reason we applied our machine-learning technology first to antibodies versus other reagents: because of the high frequency of antibody use in biomedical research, and the wide array of applications that depend on antibodies.
Yet while there are over 25 distinct applications that use antibodies, our analysis found that over 90% of use cases involve just 4: Western Blot, Immunostaining, Immunoprecipitation and Flow Cytometry!
To help expose more scientists to lesser-used antibody applications—and thereby expand the research community’s reservoir of experimental tools—we’re starting a blog series called “Antibody Applications.” In this series, we’ll cover applications including:
- Blue Native-PAGE
- Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)
- Dot Blot
- Proximity Ligation Assay (PLA)
- Mass Cytometry (CyTOF)
…and more
Starting this week, we’ll be working with scientists who have hands-on experience with these applications to provide both principles and bench tips for each.
So stay tuned. And if you’re working with an antibody-based application that most scientists are unfamiliar with, let me know in the comment section below. We would love to showcase your knowledge and expertise!
